£164 Million For Final 25 % Stake Of HTC

HTC sold its 25 % stake in audio company Beats as reported by The Wall Street Journal. It has already sold its majority of stake about a year ago. Selling the majority stake of the deal in half and charged £164 million for the rest due to its dreadful financial condition.

The failure of the deal initially was because of the disagreements in the formulation of strategy and also the investment direction as said by the people who are well acquainted with the matter. Nonetheless, it is doubtful that Beats tech helped HTC in thrash various phones also.

However, this is not the only way of for Beats, which is polishing its hands to grow the portable speaker market along with that it also wants to install its audio tech into cars and the laptops. The company is also formulating streaming service codenamed “Daisy” to overtake Pandora and Spotify. It also has an investor as backup named one Carlyle Group.

The discussion between Apple and Beats regarding Daisy was going on initially, but it seems that the two giant didn’t agreed in terms which made Apple launch iTunes Radio. This is quite attention-grabbing phase for HTC as this is for the first time when it is facing its first quarterly failure ever since it went public in the year 2002. In order to make things favourable it has sign up with Robert Downey Jr. to frontage an advertisement proclaiming “Here’s To Change”.
